A patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence came under gunfire in the Namlieh Bridge area in Baalbek- two suspects arrested in Baaklin and Zalka in Mount Lebanon
The Lebanese Armed Forces Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
During an operation to arrest the citizen "H.A.A" known as “AlBaha” in the Namlieh Bridge area of Baalbek, wanted for forming a gang involved in weapons trafficking, car theft, and drug dealing, he rammed a military vehicle and opened fire on the patrol officers while attempting to flee with others. The officers were forced to respond, resulting in his injury. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Weapons, ammunition, and a quantity of drugs were found in his vehicle.
Additionally, another patrol arrested a citizen identified as "N.K.GH." in Baaklin, Mount Lebanon, for drug use, possession of weapons, and threatening citizens. A large quantity of weapons and military equipment was seized from his residence.
A patrol also arrested a Syrian national, "G.M.," in Zalka, Mount Lebanon for drug use and for disturbing the peace in a church while visibly intoxicated during a prayer service.
The seized items were handed over to the authorities, and the investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining members of the mentioned gang.
