Prime Minister Nawaf Salam inspects the South Litani Sector Command, the town of Khyam, and the city of Nabatiyeh
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, accompanied by Minister of Energy and Water Joseph AlSaddi, Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasmani, Minister of Environment Tamara Al Zein, and Interim LAF Commander Major General Hassan Audi, visited the South Litani Sector Command at the Benoit Barakat Barracks in Tyre. They were briefed on the operational situation and the deployment of military units. He also met with the military personnel and expressed his appreciation for the army and its martyrs. He addressed them saying, "You are the symbol of honor, sacrifice, and loyalty. You are the backbone of sovereignty and independence. The LAF is entrusted with defending Lebanon, and it is responsible for maintaining the country's security, protecting its people, and preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Today, the army is fulfilling its duties fully, strengthening its deployment with determination and firmness to establish stability in the south and facilitate the return of our people to their villages and homes."
He affirmed the continued efforts to support the capabilities of the military institution, expressing his appreciation for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and its cooperation with the army and Lebanese authorities in implementing Resolution 1701. Afterwards, President Salam, along with the ministers and Major General Hassan Audi, toured the town of Khyam and the city of Nabatiyeh to assess the situation of the residents. They inspected the extensive destruction caused by the Israeli enemy during its recent aggression.
