Raid and arrest of 237 individuals within the framework of combating human trafficking across the sea
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
As part of the security measures taken by the military institution to combat human trafficking across the sea, two patrols from the Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with a unit from the army, arrested 204 Syrians while attempting to travel across the sea illegally, as follows:
• A raid was conducted on the house of the citizen (M.A.) in Bebnin - North, leading to the arrest of 54 Syrians.
• 150 Syrians were arrested at the beach in the Arida area.
Additionally, the naval forces, along with a unit from the army, arrested 5 Lebanese, 26 Syrians, and 2 Palestinians who were on board two boats off the coast of the Qlayaat area - North while attempting to travel across the sea illegally.
Investigations with the detainees have begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
