Receipt of a Donation Provided by the Japanese Authorities and Implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)
A ceremony was held at the Officers' Club in Yarzeh to receive a grant provided by the Japanese authorities and implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The grant includes the installation of solar energy systems in several military medical centers. The event was attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon, MAGOSHI Masayuki, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Equipment representing the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces general Rodolphe Haykal, the UNOPS Office Director in Jordan, Mohammad Othman, along with a number of officers.
During the ceremony, the Japanese Ambassador delivered a speech in which he praised the vital role played by the army in ensuring Lebanon's security and stability, emphasizing the Japanese authorities' support for the army in light of the current challenges.
On the other hand, the representative of the Army Commander, Brigadier General Engineer Tony Abboud, delivered a speech in which he stated: "Today, we are witnessing a new phase of effective cooperation between us, represented by the development of energy infrastructure and technical capabilities in several military medical centers."
Mr. Othman also gave a speech in which he emphasized the necessity of supporting the military institution in light of the challenges it is facing.
