Soldier and Wanted Suspect Injured in Exchange of Fire During Raid in Akkar; Army Arrests Wanted Individuals for Opening Fire and Possessing Drugs
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
An Army unit carried out a raid in Ain Al Dhahab – Akkar, arresting citizens (Z.A.) and (M.A.) for their involvement in an exchange of fire during an incident that occurred on June 7, 2026.
During the raid, citizen (S.A.) opened fire at the unit’s personnel, who returned fire. The incident resulted in the injury of a soldier and the shooter, who was transferred to a hospital for treatment. The weapon used in the shooting and a quantity of military ammunition were seized.
Another Army unit arrested citizens (SH.A.) and (T.KH.) in the same town for having opened fire on previous occasions.
An Army unit also raided the homes of wanted individuals in Tal Al Abyad – Baalbek, arresting citizen (H.J.), who was wanted for committing several offenses, including opening fire on an Army patrol, and citizen (AA.K.) for possessing a quantity of drugs.
The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
