Soldier sustains minor injuries as a result of gunfire directed at an army patrol in Qasr – Hermel

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On January 19, 2025, while carrying out a security mission in the Qasr – Hermel area along the Lebanese-Syrian border, unknown gunmen from the Syrian side opened fire on the patrol. The patrol members fired back, leading to an exchange of gunfire during which one soldier sustained minor injuries and was transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Military units in the sector have implemented strict security measures, and necessary follow-up on the incident is underway.
