Stones thrown at a military unit in Labweh during protests against the killing of a citizen at a temporary army checkpoint

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement

On 1/10/ 2023, during protests in the Labweh area, following the killing of a citizen during the implementation of a temporary checkpoint in Al Ain on 30/09/2023, protesters blocked the Baalbek-Homs international road. The military unit responsible for reopening the road was also subjected to stone-throwing.

The military command urges citizens to remain calm and cooperate with the security measures, affirming that an investigation has been initiated to uncover the details of the incident.
