Thwarting smuggling attempts and arresting 25 suspects at the Lebanese – Syrian northern and eastern border

LAF units confiscated at the Lebanese – Syrian northern and eastern border on several occasions between 7/5/2020 and 14/5/2020 10 cisterns, 2 pickups and a van carrying around 215000 liters of diesel. Additionally, LAF units confiscated 2 trucks and 4 pickups transporting around 71 tons of flour and arrested 25 suspects. Army units are taking all necessary actions aimed at controlling the border and thwarting illegal cross-border smuggling operations.

The suspects and the confiscated items and vehicles were turned in to the competent judiciary authorities.
