Two individuals arrested in Nahr El Mot - Matn

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On January 17, 2025, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence arrested a Lebanese citizen (A.Z.) and a Syrian national (A.M.) in the Nahr El Mot - Matn, for forming a drug trafficking gang. During the pursuit of their vehicle, one of the suspects fired at the patrol prompting the officers to return fire, resulting in his injury. He was transferred to a hospital for treatment. A large quantity of drugs and a military-grade pistol were seized from their possession.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of competent judicial authority.
