Expand cooperation with friendly Staff and War Colleges: exchanging expertise, curriculum enhancement, mutual annual students visits...
Geographic location permit our facility to be used, as previously, in launching forums and seminars. (ISG program, IDARM program, BS program…)
Expand friendly countries Officers participation in the academic program in order to reach the international level.
Provide the College with Modern Equipment's & Technologies to keep up with new developments (Library, auditorium…), and keep the facility in good conditions (lighting, ceiling…)
Lauch the National Defense Program
Mission
Prepare officers to assume command responsibilities and perform staff functions over different units types and levels (Tactical –Logistics…) to face recent and future challenges of the tactical and operational environment.
Develop officers’ critical thinking and team spirit, and enhance their capabilities to research, analyze and discuss.
Assess officers’ professional and personal skills and their competencies for future responsibilities.

Fouad Chehab
Lebanese Armed Forces Commander in Chief (the 1st Cdr). 1 Aug 1945 – 23 Sep 1958.
President of the Lebanese Republic 23 Sep 1958 – 23 Sep 1964.
Short History
The college was founded on Sep 1st 1974 under the name of Center of High Military Education.
Name Evolution:
- - Jan 24th 1980: Institute of High Military Education.
- - Aug 18th 1983: Command & Staff College.
- - Oct 25th 2005: Fouad Shehab Command & Staff College.

Course Objectives
Prepare international officers for operational and strategic leadership.
Achieve the success in planning different types of strategies facing a number of serious threats not only at the security level, but also at the social and economic level.
Present a Professional Military Education which provide an Internationally-recognized, accredited, graduate-degree in strategic security studies.
Course Requirements
Courses are given base on phases of officers education that start from the bottom of the pyramid al the way to the top.
Requirements
- Fluent in English Language.
- Major and above or equivalent.
- Battalion Commander course or equivalent.
To note that the Staff Course is the highest military education in Lebanon.
WC: War College.
NDC: National Defense Course.

The Lebanese University is the national public university of Lebanon.
It is ranked #601-650 in QS World University Rankings.
It has the HCERES institutional accreditation from France.
AUST is private Lebanese University, it is internationally accredited European Institutional accreditation from Evalag in Germany.
American Program accreditations ABET for the Engineering And Computer Sciences IACBE for the Faculty of Business as well as ISO accreditations for all its labs.

A graduation ceremony and certificate distribution for the officers of the 60th Battalion Commanders Course were held at Fouad Shehab Command and Staff College - Rihaniyeh.
