The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief and Chief of Defence of the Netherlands Conduct Operational Tour of the Third Land Border Regiment in Aita Al Fakhar – Rashaya
At the conclusion of his visit to Lebanon, the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal and the Chief of Defence of the Netherlands, General Onno Eichelsheim, conducted an operational tour of a border post belonging to the Third Land Border Regiment in the outskirts of the Helweh –Rashaya area. They met with officers and soldiers and commended their efforts in carrying out their duties despite the challenges and difficult circumstances.
They were also briefed on the operational situation within the regiment’s area of responsibility, as well as the technologies and methods used for border surveillance and anti-smuggling operations. They received an overview of the regiment’s missions and discussed ways to provide support to the Lebanese Army in order to enhance its capabilities, particularly those related to border control.
They both also visited another border post operated by the regiment, where they reviewed the missions being carried out and the difficulties faced by military personnel.
Following the visit, General Eichelsheim departed Lebanon.
